Oracle, a multinational computer technology corporation has formally appreciated the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) for the leadership role he played in getting an Oracle Universal License approved by the Federal Executive Council of Nigeria.
The Oracle team described the move as a positive step in the right direction for a Digital Nigeria which will reduce government expenditure on licenses, improve efficiency in the management of licenses and aid interoperability among various MDAs patronizing their services in Nigeria.
The Oracle team made this known today during a virtual meeting with the Honourable Minister which was attended by Cherian Varghese, Senior Vice President, Middle East and Africa License Leader; Abiy Yeshitla, Cloud Leader for the Middle East and Africa; Avinash Ramtohul, Technology Sales Consulting leader for Africa Operations; Ahmed Adley, Cloud Presales for the Middle East and Africa; Segun Ajayi, Nigeria Country Leader; Uzoma Ekwebelem, Cloud Country Leader for Nigeria and Zainab Olulana, Technology Sales Director for Public Sector (Nigeria).
The team also introduced its executive management to the Honourable Minister and further informed him of its proposed plan to support the Nigerian National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy for a Digital Nigeria.
The proposed plan of Oracle includes; the establishment of an Oracle Academy; Oracle University; Oracle for StartUps; Oracle Cloud; Digital Infrastructures; support for Digital Services and Emerging Technology.
